Fiona Smith, LMSW
Psychotherapist (She/ Her/ Hers) Fiona is a Licensed Master Social Worker, passionate about helping clients feel more empowered through increasing personal agency and gaining deeper insight into self and others. She specializes in working with women navigating life transitions, relationships, and work issues - including career changes, breakups or divorces, parenting/family issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Prior to becoming a therapist, Fiona worked in the entertainment industry for just under a decade as a head of production, which shaped her understanding of high-stress, high-performance workplace dynamics, team building psychology, burnout, perfectionism, and the struggle of balancing career with life. Fiona is committed to helping clients find fulfillment and reach their potential by helping identify patterns that are keeping them stuck while building self-compassion. Additionally, she has completed level one of the Gottman Method and provides couples therapy to those of all ages who wish to hone communication skills, work on attachment styles, build security, and enhance or maintain their connection. She has also led a pregnancy loss group through The Miscarriage Therapist and provided perinatal support to those transitioning to new motherhood. Fiona uses a strengths-based approach to sessions, drawing on somatic and mindfulness techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (certificate from Wise Mind), and Motivational Interviewing (certificate from CSSW) to create a supportive, all inclusive partnership with clients. She is also certified in sound healing through Integral Yoga Institute, and incorporates a holistic and integrative perspective into treatment. Fiona is also certified in grief treatment and exposure therapy for grief through Columbia's Center for Prolonged Grief. Cost for a 60-minute session: $175 |
