Cathy Wang
Psychotherapist (She /Her/ Hers) Cathy is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master of Social Work from Columbia University, where she specialized in Advanced Clinical Practice with a focus on health and mental health. She is dedicated to creating a collaborative and warm space where clients can explore their feelings and experiences, make meaning of them, and move toward more balanced and fulfilling lives. Drawing on her lived experience as a first-generation immigrant and queer woman of color, Cathy brings a culturally informed, person-centered lens to her clinical work. She integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment theory to meet each client where they are. Cathy's experience as a counselor for students at a Harlem high school and as a case manager for young women grounds her specialty in working with teens and young adults. She is particularly attuned to clients navigating cultural and intergenerational trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, body image, and life transitions. Cathy believes healing happens in relationship, and she shows up for her clients with humor, warmth, and genuine cultural humility. Her goal is to empower the people she works with to grow, heal, and step more fully into an authentic version of themselves. |
